Military and Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

How do you put a price tag on a family dinner full of smiles? Can you buy the opportunity to tuck your child into bed at night? Do you lie your head down on that soft fluffy pillow to go to sleep with the thought that beyond the darkness of the night there are men and women out there willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to keep you safe? Everyday, the heroes of our country risk their lives so that we can afford those priceless moments and their families selflessly sacrifice their priceless moments for the lives of strangers they’ve never meant.

Conde With this in mind and in the spirit of gratitude, the Central Florida Fair would like to say “thank you” and recognize those heroes and their families by offering free admission into the fair for a day of family fun on Monday, April 23rd from 4pm- close for Military and Law Enforcement Appreciation Day! All active/retired military and law enforcement personnel and their families get into the Fair for FREE!

Kenneth Conde Jr A day of exciting entertainment, rides, and Fair food will surely give our Heroes and their families some priceless moments of their own to cherish! In addition, at 8:00 p.m. in front of the Main Stage a candlelight vigil will take place to give the community the opportunity to pay their respects to those that have lost their lives while protecting ours. The ceremony will begin with a speech from Kenneth Conde Sr., the father of a Central Florida local hero that gave his life in the War in Iraq. His son, Kenneth Conde Jr., made a heroic sacrifice that earned him a bronze star and ultimately took his life. Mr. Conde will also be available to sign copies of his book, Just Another Broken Heart: Reflections from the Father of a Fallen United States Marine. The ceremony will end with a moment of silence for our fallen heroes overseas and those we have lost here at home in the line of duty.
