Maisonet-Maldonado, 25, stabbed his live-in girlfriend, Berlitz Alvelo, 35, in the Blanchard Park area last Saturday night around 11:00 pm, then fled the scene in a BMW SUV, not before running over Alvelo with his vehicle.

Maisonet-Maldonado continued on his deadly rampage, traveling westbound on Colonial Drive at a rate of over 100 mph, eyewitnesses say.  He struck a silver Chevrolet, with Georgia license plates, driven by Amy Terry, 50, which was stopped in the right turn lane at Colonial Drive and N. Garland Avenue.

Next, the front of Maisonet-Maldonado’s BMW SVU struck the rear of a red BMW, with California license plates, driven by James LeCorte, 39, that was stopped for a red traffic light in the right through lane on Westbound Colonial Drive at N. Garland Avenue.  The red BMW then traveled through the intersection and into a center concrete barrier until it came to finally rest approximately 200 feet from the area of impact.  Maldonado’s car then struck a Department of Transportation road sign and subsequently struck a concrete bridge pylon before coming to final rest.

Two passengers, Francesca Jeffery, 23 years from Orlando and Amanda Taylor, 28 years, from Winter who were in the red BMW died on the spot.

Terry, the driver of the silver Chevrolet and her passenger, Kurt Terry, 49, were not injured in the horrific crash.

Maisonet-Maldonado and Lecorte were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Maisonet-Maldonado’s live-in girlfriend, Alvelo succumbed to her injuries. He had called Alvelo’s mother bragging that he had killed Berlitz. Alvelo’s family and neighbors say that there has been a long history of domestic violence
