Fresh From Florida: A Holiday Celebration

Spectators flocked to downtown Orlando to observe the display of breathtaking floats, marching bands and performance groups in the 2011 Fresh From Florida Parade, formerly known as the Orlando Citrus Parade.  An annual event, the Parade kicked off on Orange Avenue at Robinson Street, traveled south to Anderson Street, over to Rosalind Avenue and finally headed north back to Robinson Street.

The Parade began more than 30 years ago, as a holiday celebration to welcome the teams that would play in the annual Florida Citrus Bowl (Capital One Bowl) and the Tangerine Bowl (Champs Sports Bowl).

The Capital One Bowl will take place on Monday, January 2, where Nebraska will face off against South Carolina at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

Florida State came from behind and in a stunning upset beat Notre Dame 18-14, to win the Champs Sports Bowl on Thursday.
