Under the VITA Program, tax payers who make $51,000 or less could receive free help with preparing their tax returns.
IRS-certified volunteers would be providing free basic income tax return preparation at the Central Florida Urban League located at 2804 Belco Drive, Orlando, on the following dates:
Every other Saturday – 02/02/2013, 02/16/2013, 03/02/2013, 03/16/2013, 03/30/2013, 04/13/2013.
Clients must bring the following:
- Picture identification
- Original social security cards for everyone on the return
- If a joint return the spouse has to be present
- 2011 tax return if available
- Bank account information for direct deposit (blank check)
- Total paid for daycare and the daycare provider tax identification number and address
- All W-2, 1099, 1098, etc. forms.
Certified volunteers will also inform taxpayers about special tax credits for which they may qualify such as Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled.
