FHP: 10-year-old girl hit by OUC truck dies

threeA 10-year-old girl struck by an Orlando Utilities Commission truck on December 2, has died, Florida High Patrol said.

Marisol Gonzalez died at the Arnold Palmer Hospital on Wednesday, December 11, just after 5:00 p.m.

Witnesses told troopers, an OUC truck was heading eastbound on Pershing Avenue and attempting to make a left turn to travel north onto Wild Hose Road, when it turned into the direct path of a Ford van going westbound on Pershing Avenue.

After the van struck the OUC vehicle it was directed to Marisol and another friend who were walking on the sidewalk, witnesses also told troopers.

Edwin Hill, 63, of Winter Garden was driving the OUC vehicle and the driver of the van was Paul Frye, 53, of Orlando.

FHP said the crash is still being investigated and charges are pending.
