Daughter Charged with First Degree Murder in Mom’s Death

Update: January 26th 11:30 AM:  Alice Williams, the victim in yesterday’s domestic shooting succumbed to her injuries last night at 11:15 PM at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.   Homicide investigators will upgrade the charges on her daughter, Heather Williams, to murder in the first degree.  The weapon used in the shooting, a .38 caliber revolver, was recovered during a search of the residence.

Heather Williams, 49 years, shot her elderly mother several times as she lay in bed, earlier today, January 25th, Orange County Deputies said.

At approximately 9:05 AM, Orange County Deputies responded to a residence in the Andover Lakes Subdivision, East Orange County, in reference to an aggravated battery/shooting.  Upon arrival deputies determined that a woman in her mid-80’s had been shot while she was laying in bed by her daughter.  Deputies  secured the victim’s daughter .  Deputies believe the daughter lives in the home with her mother.

Alice Williams, 88 years, the victim, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she was reported to stable condition and undergoing surgery for her injuries.

Detectives from the agency’s Domestic Violence Squad responded to the scene.

Williams’ daughter, Heather, was taken into custody and has since been charged with attempted murder.

Deputies have determined that the mother and daughter argued last night and this may have led to the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
