Dyer Invites Community to Groundbreaking of Performing Arts Center

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (DPAC) will celebrate a historic milestone with a three-day community groundbreaking celebration, June 23-25 made possible by an outpouring of community donations.

On June 23, the official groundbreaking moment takes place 5:30-7:15 pm, with live entertainment from renowned Broadway singer and actor (and Orlando native) Davis Gaines, as well performances from the Orlando Ballet, Orlando Ballet School, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orlando Repertory Theatre and the cast of the national tour of the Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR.

Celebrations continue with an open house on June 24, 11 am – 2 pm and June 25, 12 – 4 pm, where the community is invited to enjoy performances from local performing artists and groups.

Funded by community donations – including no public funds – these events are free and open to the public, and will take place in an outdoor air conditioned tent located on Magnolia Avenue, between Anderson and South Streets.
