With the holiday season upon us, the Orlando Magic Backcourt is teaming up with local meal assembly kitchen, Let’s Eat! Winter Park to feed children who would otherwise go without. All who purchase a ticket will have the opportunity to mingle with some of their favorite Magic players and meet members of the Magic Backcourt, win great raffle prizes, enjoy cocktails and appetizers from Let’s Eat! Winter Park and Peroni all while raising money to feed local, underserved children.

Magic’s Landman-Gonzalez receives Don Quijote Award

Orlando Magic Vice President of Community Relations and Government Affairs Linda Landman-Gonzalez was honored at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce/Hispanic Business Initiative Fund of Florida, Inc. Don Quijote Awards receiving the Hispanic Community Champion award at the ceremony on Saturday, December 5 at Walt Disney World’s World Showcase Pavillion at Epcot. Landman-Gonzalez received the award in honor of her efforts and commitment to the Central Florida community.

Magic Host ‘Happy Hour’ for Young Professionals

The Orlando Magic will host a BE HAPPY Hour for young professionals on Monday, December 14 for their game against the Indiana Pacers. All young professionals can purchase a $69 package that includes: One lower bowl ticket (reg. $80), two drinks, appetizers and admission to an exclusive pregame happy hour from 5:30 – 7:00 in the M&I Vaults near the Magic locker room, which will include music, trivia, prizes and an appearance by the Magic Dancers.

Magic’s Howard Helps Teen Moms

Orlando Magic Dwight Howard, thrilled and tickled many when he gave out autographs on Thursday to his many fans during a ceremony in which he donated $25,000 to the BETA Center. The BETA Center program provides middle school and high school academic training to teen moms throughout the Orange County School System’s Alternative Education Program. The center provides tutoring to teen mothers so they can stay on track to graduation and future educational goals.

On Wednesday night the New York Knicks came to the Amway Arena, only to be sent back home with a 118-104 beating at the hands of the Orlando Magic. The New Jersey Nets lost an 18th straight game to set the season opening loss record, but the Knicks certainly have an argument for the worst team in basketball. At least the Nets are trying.

The Orlando Magic Backcourt will be auctioning off trees at the December 2, Magic vs. Knicks matchup. Each tree has a different theme and will raise money for a local charity. The trees will be on display during the game and the silent auction will be held outside section 117.

Magic Van Gundy Named Top NBA Eastern Coach

The Orlando Magic’s Stan Van Gundy was today named the NBA Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for games played in October and November. Van Gundy guided the Magic to a 14-4 (.778) record, tops in the Eastern Conference. The Magic recorded key road wins over fellow Eastern Conference powers Boston and Atlanta, amassing an 8-2 record away from Amway Arena.

Magic and Fox Sports Team Up for On-Air Auction

The Orlando Magic and FOX Sports Florida are teaming for an inaugural on-air television auction benefiting the Orlando Magic Youth Fund, a fund of the McCormick Foundation, during the Dec. 2 game against the New York Knicks. Auction items will be available for viewing on OrlandoMagic.com and FOXSportsFlorida.com and will also be highlighted throughout the night’s telecast, which begins at 6:00 p.m. with the “Magic LIVE” pregame show. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Orlando Magic Youth Fund.
