The world has literally found itself in a unique position as it stretches its hands in need to people who need help on 3 regions of the world. The earthquake in Haiti, Chile, and Taiwan has quickly reminded us how devastating Mother Nature can be at a moment’s notice.
When every man, woman, and child in this country goes to bed each night with a full stomach, then and only then should we start to feed the rest of the world.

As of February 1, 2010, The Metropolitan Orlando Urban League has a new president/CEO. Allie L. Braswell Jr. took the helm of the 33-year-old struggling civil rights organization with numerous challenges and a major credibility issue.
Wednesday evening, at the Smith Community Center, Commissioner Samuel Ings and the Facilities Manger, Marlon Poteat, Coaches, and Board Members unveiled a wonderful program for the youth in District 6. There were over 50 males and females children, who had uniforms on with Chucky Atkins Basketball Academy on the shirts.
Rosen Hotels & Resorts President and COO, Harris Rosen was awarded “Citizen of the Year Award” by the Florida School Boards Association. He was awarded this prestigious award by the States Educational System for the college scholarship and preschool program he has initiated in the Tangelo Park community.
Attorneys for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard have filed two lawsuits in Orange County Circuit Court against his 2 year-old son’s mother. The two suits claim that Royce Reed denied Howard his visitation rights, and made negative statements about Howard on a message board on LipstickAlley.com.
Early in President Obama’s Campaign he stated, “This country is ready for a transformative politics of the sort that John F Kennedy, Ronald Regan, and Franklin Roosevelt represented.” Tuesday night Obama will unveil his Afghan strategy and the rest of the country and I expect “business as usual.”
Social Security kills a lot of trees. Now, that’s not a knock on them because they are working their butts off to become paperless. The simple fact of the matter is that Social Security requires a lot of information in order to determine if you are disabled. As such, you are going to get a lot of forms to fill out.

As the City of Orlando begins to celebrate the completion of the Amway Center, many questions need to be answered. With city personnel losing their jobs because of the recession, the workload has doubled for the remaining city workers. The city is tightening its belt, but with the new arena, the city will have to spend, spend and spend some more.
The Obama White House and the insurance industry are putting on a big show for the public, with both sides pretending to be engaged in a battle royal over the shape of health care legislation. In reality, the insurance corporations have already won the war. But for political reasons, it’s necessary that the insurance companies and the White House act like professional wrestlers. And like TV wrestling, it’s all fake.
