BP: $32M Paid to Florida’s Cities, Counties
Cities, counties and the state have received $31.7 million in payments from BP for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the company reported late Thursday in its latest update on payments made since the disaster.
Gulf Task Force Begins 11-Month Odyssey
EPA Secretary Lisa Jackson called on the federal task force on Monday to go beyond its immediate mandate of looking at the ecosystem damage caused by the Gulf oil spill and explore environmental problems to the Gulf system prior to the disaster. Jackson was speaking to members of the Gulf Ecosystem Restoration Task Force at its first meeting in Pensacola.
