The Cost of Freedom
Normandy Beach, June 6th 1944. The largest amphibian invasion in history stood poised on the horizon. 6,900 vessels dotted the sea and were all focused on the French Beaches. The American fighting force averaged 18-24 years old and came from small and large towns across America. They were sons, husbands, fathers…farmers. These young men grew together despite their immense differences. They learned to accept the fear that they felt, the risk they faced and fully embraced the duty of which they willingly served.
The Perfect Meal–21 Years in the Making
Perfection is attained by slow degrees; it requires the hands of time. Voltaire I have to admit that I lack the inherent ability to discern a meal that is partially perfect from a meal that is actually “perfect.” I also cannot appreciate the difference between an $8 bottle of Merlot and a much more expensive more »
Running From Within

ISLAMOPHOBIA AND A PEACEFUL WORLD
There will come a day when the United States is no longer in Iraq, no longer in Afghanistan and no longer trying to discern how we can best comply to avoid retribution on our own soil. When that day comes, will there be peace in Iraq, Iran or Afghanistan? Nearly one decade to the day, September 10th 2001, America was a different place than today. Perhaps naïve, perhaps too trusting, perhaps too involved in the freedom of others. However, history will never reflect that America was focused on attacking others in the name of religion. America was attacked on September 11th 2001, not by Muslims, not by followers of Islam, not by the Qur’an, but by 19 terrorists who harbored a deep-seated hatred for the American ideal.

The Critical Condition of Florida’s Healthcare
Everyday we hear news about changes in healthcare, but we rarely give a second thought as to how it could affect us. Providing medical care is a business. As much as we would like to believe that the delivery of medical care is somehow above other business models, the reality is that if medical providers are not profitable, they cannot remain in business.
