Woman Gives Birth at Home, Puts Baby in Dryer to Die

A Virginia woman faces attempted murder and child neglect charges, after giving birth and placing the baby in a plastic bag in the dryer at her home.

Angela Janecka, 39, who gave birth on August 25, told her husband that the baby was still born. But when Janecka’s husband came home and started cleaning up their home, he told investigators he heard a noise which he thought sounded like a cat.

Janecka’s husband discovered the 8 lbs baby girl crying in the dryer, alive and well.

Investigators say, after the child was born, Angela Janecka placed the baby in a plastic bag and pillow case, and put the bundle in the dyer.

Janecka, who has a 8-year-old child, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and child neglect. She is being held without bond.
