You come home after a long day at work, you open the door but, there’s no one inside to welcome you. Your heart feels empty but, a part of you is happy to be single. The last relationship left a sour taste in your mouth. You gave your all to your ex but, they broke your heart into a thousand pieces and now you’re afraid to date someone new.
Dating is like running a marathon. You train for it (Exercise, get a haircut, new shoes) you show up to the event (Go on a date). While running you get tired. You may quit the marathon (Stop dating) or you may complete it (Get married).
Dating is a learning process. You learn through trial and error. You learn what qualities you do and don’t like in a person. So, be vulnerable and surrender yourself to love. The bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:4-9 “Love is patient….It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres….Love never fails.”
You are not alone. Many people have been lied to, stood up, and cheated on; it’s a part of the dating marathon. Each heart-break is like boot camp, it makes you stronger. Allow time to heal your wounds but, continue running the dating marathon because your new spouse awaits you.
