Three-day Tax-Free Shopping Begins Friday

Shoppers would be able to avoid paying sales taxes on certain items on account of a three-day “sales tax holiday” beginning at 12:01 a.m., Friday.

Items such as clothing, shoes and bags that cost $75 or less will be exempt from sales taxes. Also, shoppers would receive sales-tax exemptions for school supplies valued at $15 or less.

The sales tax holiday will end at 11:50 p.m. on August 5, 2012.
