Did Romney Not Pay Taxes for 10 Years?
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said, while he could not be certain, Republican presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney, may not have paid taxes for ten years, hence his refusal to release addition tax returns.
Reid, who gave a wide-ranging interview with The Huffington Post said, someone who had invested with Bain Capital, called his office to inform him of this.
“Harry, he didn’t pay any taxes for 10 years,” Reid recounted the person as saying.
“He didn’t pay taxes for 10 years! Now, do I know that that’s true? Well, I’m not certain. But obviously he can’t release those tax returns. How would it look?”
Despite calls from some of his Republican colleagues, Romney has refused to release more than his 2010 tax returns and has said he will release 2011, as some point.
