Deputies ID Man Found Shot Dead Outside Apopka Home

Orange County Deputies have identified the man who was found shot dead outside a home in Apopka early on Sunday morning.

The victim is 35-year-old Nikki Smith, a black male.

Smith was found lying on the ground outside a home in the 1300 block of Highland Avenue in Apopka around 2:00 a.m., on July 22.

Smith was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead from a gun shot wound.

It is not clear whether investigators have any suspects in this case, but detectives are treating this as a homicide.
