I love reading rock history and you got this just right. Maybe the revolution is what happened while we were looking somewhere else. I would say that rock and roll was more revolutionary than the anti-war movement. After all look what happened — We got into Vietnam in the early 60s and didn’t get out until the 70s. That’s over ten years, despite violent protests, civil disobedience, etc. Perhaps they didn’t have the effect that the demonstrators thought. We’ve had very little of those types of demonstrations against the war in Afghanistan and when are we getting out? 10 years after it started.
