Shark Meat: Daytona Cops Raid Popular Lounge
Daytona Beach Police raided an adult club on Wednesday night, arresting more several people on various charges, including solicitation to commit prostitution, lewd and lascivious exhibition, and delivery and sale of illegal drugs.
Dubbed “Operation Chum Bucket” the investigation began 16 months ago and culminated in a raid on Shark Lounge, located at 730 East Speedway, where a search warrant was served around 10:00 p.m. To date, there are 13 named arrest warrants outstanding for drugs.
A spokesperson for the Daytona Beach Police, Jimmie Flynt said, at least “four other people inside the club were arrested” on Wednesday night on charges including drug sales, prostitution and lewd and lascivious behaviour.
Among those arrested were, 59-year-old Nicholas E. Montagna, manager of the Shark Lounge. Police say, Montagna permitted a dancer, Candice Brown, 30, to expose her breast and other body parts as she danced on stage. Brown who goes by the stage name “Saphire” was arrested along with Montagna and charged with alcohol and nudity.
Crystal Matthews, 29, who offered to sell an undercover detective cocaine for $30 was also one of the arrestees. She has been charged with the sale and delivery of cocaine and violation of probation.
According to the arrest report, Matthews inquired of the officer, “what’s going on?” and when the undercover detective replied that “we are looking to party, can you help out,” she offered to sell some powder to him. Matthews then brought to the table a Black baggie containing the suspected cocaine. The detective handed over $30, which was pre-recorded.
On another occasion, Matthews offered to sell cocaine for $40 and a blow job for $80 to an officer. She was also charged with the sale and delivery of cocaine.
Lincoln D. Sommerland, 49, a patron in the club, was charged with lewd or lascivious exhibition. Officers say, he was caught masturbating in front of two dancers.
Danielle McClintock, 41, offered an undercover detective $100 for a blow job in a VIP room. She was charged with two counts of solicitation to commit prostitution.
Cassandra Butler, 27, offered to go to a hotel with an undercover officer for sex for $150 an hour. She has been charged with solicitation to commit prostitution.
Other arrested were:
- Candace M. Brown, 32, charged with lewd and lascivious behavior and possession of cocaine.
- Norman Horner, 29, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia
- Sheniqua L. Ramsey, charged with trafficking in illegal drugs
- Gina Rippolone, 21, charged with sale and delivery of contraband substances.
Flynt said, more arrest are on the cards.
