AAA Releases New Auto Buying Tools App

The latest AAA Consumer Pulse™ survey shows one in three consumers (35%) use online car buying resources to arm themselves with information before visiting a dealership. According to AAA’s survey, more consumers plan to purchase a vehicle in the next two years compared to those surveyed in 2010 (42% in 2012 versus 33% in 2010).
To help consumers get the best deal possible, AAA recently released the new Auto Buying Tools app for iPhones. AAA’s Auto Buying Tools app, allows prospective buyers to build the car they want, including options and available incentives, while viewing market prices, crash safety ratings, AAA reviews, images, and more.
“We understand car buying can be a frustrating experience for many shoppers. Knowledge is key and gives consumers the upper hand when they walk into a dealership,” said Jill Perry, AAA director, Financial Services, The Auto Club Group. “AAA’s new Auto Buying Tools app will give consumers the confidence and information they need to make an educated decision when shopping for a vehicle and help eliminate the pressure to buy.”
Two in five consumers (42%) said they felt pressured to buy a vehicle in the past, while 27 percent said they walked out of a dealership after experiencing an unpleasant situation, according to AAA’s Consumer Pulse™ survey. AAA’s new app is aimed to help buyers with at least two of the top three concerns consumers have when shopping for a vehicle, such as they don’t like dealing with salespeople (44%), vehicles lose value too quickly (37%), and they don’t think they will get a good deal (32%).
