Obama’s Top Jobs Czar Outsourced Tons of Jobs, Closed Factories
The man who President Obama selected to be his top jobs czar, former General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt, was good at working the system so well for his company, that not only were taxes paid, but $3 billion was returned to the corporation.
Immelt, it’s said, outsourced tons of jobs overseas, cut workers’ pay and in the last two years alone, GE has closed 29 factories in the U.S.
A GE spokesman did say that the company has added 6,000 manufacturing jobs in the last two years in the U.S. and believe in free trade, reports crooksandliars.com.
So, what is Obama thinking when he names someone like Immelt to be the face for the White House in getting Americans back to work?
Some pundits have suggested that perhaps Obama is hoping to endear himself to the corporate community. And true, Immelt’s appointment drew mostly cheers from this group.
But, others believe that Obama sends the wrong message to those Americans who are currently out of work.
You get to decide how you view such an appointment.
