Jobless Americans About to Lose Unemployment Benefits

Unless the U.S. Congress acts on Tuesday to extend programs for those who have exhausted regular state unemployment benefits, millions of jobless workers across the country will begin to lose their emergency unemployment benefits beginning at midnight. According to The Hill, a yearlong extension of federal unemployment benefits which the White House supports would cost an estimated $65 billion.
