Rep. Thompson says Illegal Immigrants must be Counted in Census

State Representative Geraldine Thompson, District 39, Orlando, in an exclusive interview recently with West Orlando New Online (WONO) said that she believes illegal immigrants should be counted in the upcoming 2010 Census.

“Yes, indeed, because they (illegal immigrants) need services. So, I think that they should be counted. And particularly now, that Haitians qualify for Temporary Protected Status, I think that they need to be counted. They have to be counted, so that we’ll be able to get the funds to provide the services that they are going to need”, said Thompson.
