WHO: More than 1,000 Dead from Swine Flu in past Week
The World Health Organization (WHO) said Friday that more than 1,000 persons died within the past week from Swine Flu, also known as the H1N1 virus,bringing the total number of deaths to at least 7,820 worldwide.
ABCNEWS: More than half of the latest fatalities were reported by health authorities in the Americas region.
The winter flu season arrived early in the northern hemisphere this year and continues to be intense across parts of North America and much of Europe.
