Shoppers Head to Stores on Black Friday
Hundreds began lining up early in the morning at major stores across the nation to be first inside with the hope of taking advantage of bargains.
Many Wal-Mart stores remained open overnight, while Best Buy and Target opened at 5:00 a.m. Toys R’ US opened at midnight.
Retailers are hoping that, after a disastrous 2008, sales would at least pick-up in 2009, although this not certain at all. The halting economic recovery and the millions of Americans that are unemployed are a potent combination for a slow holiday season, although retailers are expecting a bounce in Black Friday’s sales.
Only time will tell!
