Fort Hood Shooter Charged with Murder X 13

Major Malik Hasan, 39, the Army psychiatrist who gunned down his peers at Fort Hood one week ago, was charged today with 13 counts of premeditated murder in accordance with the military’s legal system.  If convicted, Hasan would be eligible to receive the death penalty, officials said.

Meanwhile, MSNBC reports that President Obama ordered a review of all intelligence related to Hasan and a determination made of whether information on the shooter was properly shared and acted upon across government agencies.

A spokesman for the Army’s Criminal Investigation, Chris Grey, said that additional charges might be filed against Hasan.
