Orlando Police Make Murder Arrest Two Years Later
On September 14, 2007, at approximately 1230 hours, in the 4700 block of North Pine Hills Road, the victim, Mark Lavell Williams, was attacked while walking home from school. He was shot in the back and killed as he attempted to flee from his attacker.

Recent leads and DNA evidence provided the Homicide Detective with probable cause to charge Derrick DeSean Williams, 25 years, (no relation) with this murder.
The shooting was retaliation for a burglary that Derrick Williams believed that Mark Williams had recently committed. Derrick DeSean Williams was already in the Orange County Jail on unrelated charges. The additional First Degree Murder Warrant was served on him on October 19th at 9:45 a.m.
